Gifts from a week old baby
It's 1 am and I am up feeding Miss E. I was having a horrible dream so I was glad to be awoken (1st gift). After her feeding was done she decided to grace me with a little smile. Kind of a "hey thanks for getting up to feed me, here is a little something for ya". Smiles from a week old baby are just the best gifts. The big sis contributed too, she cried briefly but decided it wasn't worth the effort to actually wake up (thank God!!). 1am blog ramblings, not something I ever thought would happen, well at least not when sober lol (ah those wonderful 20's). Hmmmm, wonderful the changes life brings about as it progresses on.
Two under 2
It has been a week since Evelyn was born, and a couple of days since my mom and aunt left. Thankfully the hubs has two weeks off of work or this place would be a total train wreck right now. There is definitely an adjustment period when one has a toddler and an infant. I am hoping it is a short adjustment period though. I am dreading the first day at home alone with both babies, and hoping it does not end with Sadie being plopped in front of the TV, Evelyn crying in her swing, and me on the couch surrounded by empty candy wrappers weeping silently. For now though I am enjoying the sweet bonding I see happening between my girls, and the extra pair of arms available to help wrangle them. This is not an adventure we expected, but it is one that I am glad we ended up on.
In other craftier news, I made Sadie a felt board last night. I figure it will be helpful for teaching her colors, and counting. Plus, who doesn't love to play with felt?! I would post a pic, but I have a 15 month old pulling on my hand and I hear Evelyn waking up, which means feeding time!

New look
Time to update my blog. In the two years since my last post, we have purchased a house, had a daughter, and we are about to welcome our second daughter into our world. That's right, 2 under 2. This should be interesting. I have been craving a space to share my thrifting, thoughts, and whining (let's face it there is going to be whining). If anyone is reading, welcome!

Finished my Master of Science in Library and Information Science, we moved to Austin, and I am currently trolling for a job in a library or archive. We are ridiculously happy in Texas, but since I am still playing housewife the baking has been going strong.

Test Run Turkey
Here is my test run Thanksgiving dinner. It thankfully came out really well. I glazed the turkey, which I have never attempted before, and it tasted wonderful. Plus homemade whole cranberry sauce, honey glazed carrots, stuffing, sweet potatoes, and corn on the cob. Of course there will be a ton more food at Thanksgiving, but there were only two of us eating that night.
